Welcome to Big Bear Lake, California.
Big Bear Lake is an alpine village located in the San Bernardino National Forest, approximately 100 miles northeast of Los Angeles. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 5,438. Situated 7,000 feet above sea level, this is an outstanding year round recreational resort area with four distinct seasons.
The beautiful blue lake sits against the backdrop of forested mountains, offering crisp fresh air and sunshine over 300 days of the year.

Big Bear Lake has everything. There's miniature golf and a water slide park, and in wintertime, the Big Bear Lake region offers world-class skiing, sledding and snowboarding - all amid some of the most spectacular mountain scenery found anywhere in the world.
Big Bear Lake is home to a Discovery Center that offers wildflower walks, bird walks, and stargazing "Nature Nights." There is some sort of special event or festival going on in the Big Bear Lake area literally every month of the year. Besides camping, Big Bear Lake offers lakeside cabins and lodges, hotels and motels, bed and breakfasts and rental properties available for visitors.
