Big Bear Lake is an alpine village located in the San Bernardino National Forest, approximately 100 miles northeast of Los Angeles. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 5,438. Situated 7,000 feet above sea level, this is an outstanding year round recreational resort area with four distinct seasons.

The beautiful blue lake sits against the backdrop of forested mountains, offering crisp fresh air and sunshine over 300 days of the year.

There is some sort of special event or festival going on in the Big Bear Lake area literally every month of the year.
